We are pleased to announce that Daidan Co., Ltd has implemented NewCommunicator as a new communication platform designed to deliver essential updates quickly and reliably to on-site staff across its Western Japan Division.
The Decision to Implement NewCommunicator
Founded in 1903, DAI-DAN is a comprehensive engineering company that has supported Japan’s building infrastructure for more than 120 years, working across HVAC systems, plumbing and sanitation, ICT, and electrical facilities. In 2024, the company renewed its corporate philosophy— “Delivering spatial value of safety, comfort, and trust to the earth, society, and our future.” Under its long-term vision Stage 2030 and the mid-term plan “The Refining Stage” (2025–2027), DAI-DAN has placed a strong focus on developing people, recognizing that their skills and productivity form the foundation of its value as an organization.
NewCommunicator was introduced as part of this effort to strengthen the environment supporting on-site teams. The Western Japan Division oversees 20 locations, from Osaka to Kyushu and Okinawa, with staff working across a wide range of project sites—including semiconductor plants, data centers, automotive battery factories, logistics centers, laboratories, and office buildings. However, the division faced persistent challenges: important updates were often buried, and accessing information required extra effort, creating inefficiencies for busy field teams.
By integrating NewCommunicator into Microsoft Teams, already a familiar tool for employees, DAI-DAN now delivers important announcements through push notifications, ensuring messages reach staff promptly and reliably. The intuitive message design and the ability to track opens and link clicks have further improved clarity and accountability. In addition, short video content of around five minutes has become a powerful way to share key know-how efficiently with teams in the field.
A More Effective Way to Support On-Site Teams
“We established the Western Japan Division’s Site Support Department in April 2023 to help reduce the operational burden on site teams from our base in Osaka. Under the slogan ‘From the site to the office,’ we support tasks such as preparing administrative documents and checking drawings so that on-site staff can focus on construction management.
Although we have relied on our intranet and email for internal communications, we wanted a way to deliver clearer, more accessible information specifically to on-site personnel. This led us to introduce NewCommunicator.
Through our customized channel, ‘Western Japan Division – Site Support Department,’ we now share a variety of content with more than seven hundred employees—including tutorials for productivity tools, walkthrough videos for DX applications, and shortcuts to essential documents for technical staff. Even at this early stage, we already feel confident that essential information is reaching the right people, through the right channel, without fail.
After the initial rollout in August 2025, several other departments quickly expressed interest, leading us to upgrade to the Pro Plan (additional senders) to support a broader, company-wide distribution structure. We believe NewCommunicator is a powerful solution to communication challenges faced by any organization using Microsoft Teams. We look forward to strengthening DAI-DAN’s internal communication even further through this new platform.”
