When it comes to keeping employees informed and motivated, Pacific Global Solutions (PGS) took their internal communication to the next level with NewCommunicator. Having used NewCommunicator for a year, we caught up with PGS to discuss new features and how they transformed their internal marketing strategy using the tool, and the impressive results they’ve achieved. 


New Features Driving Engagement

— Since you started using NewCommunicator, a few features have been added, like the Embed Video feature¹, AI Assist², and By Name Activity Reporting. How are you finding those? 

The Embed Video feature was something we specifically requested, and we’re thrilled it’s here! It’s made a significant impact; viewership spikes whenever we distribute video messages, especially from executives. With images or graphics, we see about 50% engagement, but with videos, it jumps to 80-90%. Videos engage employees better than text or images, and this feature has become essential for sharing video content internally, as our strict internal policies prevent us from using platforms like YouTube.

— How about AI Assist and By Name Activity Reporting?

AI Assist helps us create concise, relevant content by summarizing it directly within NewCommunicator—no need to switch apps! The By Name Activity Reporting is also game-changing. Before, we had limited reporting; now, we can see who’s viewing our graphics and clicking links. As a Culture and Communications expert, it’s very important for us to set the right culture; if we see a gap in engagement, that’s an alert for us. This feature helps us identify areas needing improvement in our internal communications and how we engage our employees with the content we’re sending out. 


Engaging Employees to Cultivate Company Culture

— Can you elaborate on your role in Culture and Communications? 

I lead our corporate culture and communication efforts, ensuring employees align with our vision and mission. For PGS, it’s crucial for us to foster an inclusive culture where appreciation and respect are core values.  


— How has NewCommunicator helped you in your role? 

We use NewCommunicator to communicate our values and vision with real-life examples, helping employees apply them in their daily work. We also promote internal events like our Cricket Tournament, which significantly boosts participation. Additionally, we send surveys, including ENPS (Employee Net Promoter Score) assessments, to gauge employee satisfaction. Previously, I had to send multiple email reminders, but now I send one email and one message via NewCommunicator. In that sense, NewCommunicator is definitely a better way to reach employees since it’s sent directly in Teams, where all their communication takes place.  


Transforming Employees into Brand Advocates 

— So, a huge part of your role revolves around effectively communicating important messages to employees. 

Yes! Internal communications are more important than ever! Our team manages not only internal content, but also social media to create buzz. For instance, we encourage employees to share and repost event information like our Walk-in Interview Drives, helping us reach a broader audience. We’re creating a dedicated channel for employee advocacy, which is key for our marketing strategy. By sending messages that encourage resharing and engagement, we leverage our internal audience to enhance both our internal and external communications.

— You mentioned employee advocacy—what challenges have you faced, and what initiatives have you implemented? 

When launching our employee advocacy program, I first focused on specific groups, like leads and managers, who are invested in the success of PGS. Engagement was my first step. Gradually, we expanded to more employees as their involvement increased with NewCommunicator. We conduct daily broadcasts, surveys, and well-being messages to foster a positive environment. It’s all about creating an environment where employees want to advocate for the company willingly, rather than feeling pressured to do so. 


— That’s fantastic! So, you’ve successfully utilized NewCommunicator to engage employees, transitioning them into brand advocates. Any final thoughts on how it has transformed your approach to internal communication and employee advocacy? 

Absolutely! NewCommunicator has been a game-changer! We mainly use it for organization-wide messages. It makes it easy to keep everyone in the loop about what’s happening in the company. Everyone feels part of the team, which is vital when many work remotely. The hybrid work model can make communication tricky, but NewCommunicator has truly brought us together! It’s invaluable for engaging everyone anywhere—whether they’re in the office, at home, or another site. A huge shout-out to the team for creating such an impactful tool!
